This type of membrane filter uses flat sheet membranes in the NF, UF and MF range.

It is used for more difficult to filter applications, where solids content is higher, viscosities are higher and conventional Cross Flow is not able to operate efficiently.

 

Construction:

Filters are installed on discs which are assembled on disc-stack.Multiple stacks are installed on one rotor which is driven and rotated at some 300 rpm.

Rotor and disc-stacks are inside pressure housing.

 

Mode of operation:

Pressure housing is fed.

Rotor assembly rotates.

This rotation has a similar cleaning/sweeping action as conventional Cross Flow.
