Evaporation

Evaporators are used in a wide range of applications, primarily to remove liquids from a solution or liquid mixture by heating it to promote evaporation and concentrate dissolved products, or purify the products.

Industrial uses:

  • Concentrating Solutions: to produce concentrated solutions, brines and syrups as final products or as preparation for the next processing steps like dryers and crystallizers.  Examples are food processing,  fruit juice or syrup production, milk and whey drying, crystallization of salts and sugar.

  • Separating and Purifying Liquids: evaporators help separate volatile components or purify substances, often requiring precise temperature and pressure control in distillation systems, for instance to concentrate alcohol.

  • Desalination: to convert seawater into freshwater by evaporating the water and then condensing the vapor and obtaining purified water..

  • Recovering Solvents: which can be re-used which also  minimizes waste disposal costs.

Below are examples of different types of evaporators to suit the product characteristics and process objectives.
